YLDR Vision

Young Life’s vision is to present Jesus to adolescents and help them grow in their faith.
What we do, train, and encourage others in
We take a risk in entering the world of adolescent youth – go to them, be their coach, their tutor, their biggest fan on the court or playing field, their friend who truly cares about their life. We strive to be Christ’s ambassador to young people, a vehicle of the love of Jesus right in the place they find themselves.
In this way, we earn the right to speak truth to them in the context of friendship, in everyday-life situations. We use camps, retreats, and other activities to share life together and help them step away and evaluate their life and the life that Jesus gives.
We stay with them as they begin the journey with Christ and encourage and challenge them along the path.
As they grow in Jesus, we pass it on – 2 Timothy 2:2

Roy’s main part of this is to lead the team at Pico Escondido in providing a great place for the camps and retreats mentioned above. We work hard to provide an atmosphere that communicates to all that they are valued members of God’s family. This is both in the quality of the facilities and in the way we treat our guests. He also leads a Bible study for a group of teenage boys.
Rebeca is focused on field ministry to adolescents. She is the operations coordinator for the Central America region of Young Life. She is also the head leader for a new club we are opening in Jarabacoa, the town where we live. In this role, she trains leaders, helps lead club, and teaches two Bible studies to girls in the community.
